Privacy

newold.games is run by Jorden Chamid in the Netherlands. It carries no advertising and no advertising pixels. Visitor statistics are collected with CorbaCount, described below.

If you never sign up

No account data is stored and you are never asked for any. A single session cookie is set to make the site work; it holds no personal data.

The site does count how often each game page is viewed. That counter is a single number per game, stored here, and is not connected to you, your account or your IP address.

Visitor statistics

The live site loads a statistics script from CorbaCount, a separate service also run by me. Loading it means your browser contacts corbacount.com. For each page you open it records the page address, the page that referred you, any utm_ campaign parameters in the address, your screen size and colour depth, your browser language, platform and processor count, and page speed measurements. Clicks on outbound download links are recorded the same way, as is a short list of site goals such as submitting an alternative.

To tell repeat visits apart it sets a cookie named _cc_vid holding a random identifier, valid for one year, and derives a short fingerprint from the browser details listed above. That identifier is not linked to your name or your email address, is never sold or shared, and is not used for advertising or profiling.

Blocking corbacount.com, or blocking scripts for this site, stops all of the above. Nothing on the site needs it in order to work.

Everything else is served from this domain. Apart from that one script, simply reading the site contacts no one else.

If you create an account

Then the following is stored:

What is never done with it

Your data is not sold, rented, shared or handed to advertisers, and there is no mailing list. It is used only to run the features described above.

How long it is kept

Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. Sign-in IP records are kept for 12 months and then deleted. If you delete your account, your account data and IP records go with it; alternatives you submitted stay on the site but are no longer attributed to you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email info@corbata.nl and it will be handled within 30 days. If you are not happy with how a request was dealt with, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Links to other sites

Every alternative links out to a shop or download page - Steam, GOG, Nintendo, the App Store and so on. Those are plain links with no affiliate code, and this site earns nothing from them. Once you follow one you are on someone else's site, under their privacy policy, not this one.
