Heroes of Might and Magic III
Also known as Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Heroes 3, HoMM3
Heroes of Might and Magic III is a 1999 turn-based strategy game developed by New World Computing. Players lead heroes across a fantasy map, exploring terrain, gathering resources, capturing towns and mines, then command armies of varied creatures in separate, tactical grid-based battles.
The game was praised for its deep blend of adventure-map exploration, town development that upgraded buildings to recruit stronger creatures, and hero progression through experience, skills, spells and artifacts. Its wide array of distinct town factions, each with its own creature lineup, its polished hand-drawn visuals, and a bundled map editor that spawned a vast library of custom maps earned it a devoted, long-lasting following.
Heroes of Might and Magic III is often considered the high point of its series and a classic of the genre. A remastered edition updates the visuals in high definition, keeping the beloved strategy experience available on modern platforms.
