Bruce Lee

1984 Datasoft Platformer Updated 26 Jul 2026

Bruce Lee is a 1984 platformer developed by Datasoft for home computers such as the Atari 8-bit and Commodore 64, blending platforming, exploration, and martial-arts combat. Players control a character based on the legendary martial artist, journeying through a series of connected chambers to collect the lanterns hanging in each, which unlock further areas on the way to confront an evil wizard and claim immortality and fortune.

Two persistent enemies, a black-clad ninja armed with a staff and a green-clad sumo wrestler, relentlessly pursue the player, who must fight them off with kicks and punches while navigating spikes, electrified hazards, and exploding plants and gathering every lantern. Its combination of fighting and platform-puzzle exploration, along with an optional cooperative or competitive two-player mode, gave it broad appeal across many systems.

Bruce Lee became a fondly remembered classic of the early home-computer era. The original remains accessible through emulation and retro collections for those interested in vintage action gaming.
