Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II is a 1997 first-person shooter developed by LucasArts. Continuing Kyle Katarn's story, it follows his discovery of his Jedi heritage as he investigates his father's murder and confronts a group of dark Jedi seeking the power of the hidden Valley of the Jedi, a nexus of the Force.
The game moved the series into full 3D and introduced lightsaber combat and a growing suite of Force powers, letting players invest earned points in light-side abilities such as healing and persuasion or dark-side powers like lightning and grip, with those choices and key story decisions steering the plot toward a light or dark ending. Its live-action full-motion-video cutscenes, filmed with real actors, and its switchable first- and third-person saber duels made it a landmark Star Wars game that helped define the franchise's action titles.
