Flashback
Flashback is a 1992 platformer developed by Delphine Software, a cinematic action-adventure often praised for its fluid, rotoscoped character animation. It followed Conrad B. Hart, an agent who awakens on the jungle moon of Titan with amnesia and must recover his memory and uncover a hidden alien conspiracy that threatens Earth.
The game combined careful, deliberate platforming, where Conrad could run, jump, hang from ledges and roll, with pistol gunplay and light inventory-based puzzle-solving, all presented in a comic-book style with atmospheric hand-drawn cutscenes. Its lifelike movement and moody science-fiction storytelling drew comparisons to Prince of Persia and Another World, helping define the cinematic platformer subgenre.
