Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven
Also known as Might and Magic 6
Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven is a 1998 role-playing game developed by New World Computing, marking the series' shift into a more modern 3D presentation while retaining its old-school depth. Players guide a party of four adventurers across a large open world blending high fantasy with hints of science fiction.
The game combined real-time and turn-based combat, letting players switch modes freely to pause and issue careful orders or wade in with continuous action. It offered enormous freedom to explore towns and dungeons, join guilds, complete quests in flexible order, and steadily build each character's skills, spells, and expertise ranks. Its sprawling scope rewarded thorough exploration and experimentation across a densely packed map.
A well-regarded entry in a long-running series, it balanced accessibility with depth and satisfied fans of party-based adventuring. The game remains available through digital storefronts, often bundled with its sequels, keeping its expansive old-school RPG experience within reach for enthusiasts.
