The game pairs classic turn-based combat and traditional Dragon Quest charm with a large, seamless overworld to explore in full 3D, distinctive Akira Toriyama character and monster designs, and a fully orchestrated score. A tension-building charge system lets characters psyche up for bigger hits, an alchemy pot combines items into new gear, and a monster-recruiting arena adds side content that rewards thorough exploration.
