Putt-Putt Joins the Parade is a 1992 children's adventure developed by Humongous Entertainment, the studio founded by former LucasArts designers Ron Gilbert and Shelley Day. It stars a friendly, talkative purple car preparing to join a town parade in Cartown.
Built specifically for young players, it uses gentle point-and-click exploration in which nearly everything on screen reacts with playful animations, hidden surprises, and no fail states or time pressure. Kids help Putt-Putt complete simple tasks, gather items, and solve light puzzles, learning through discovery and humor rather than challenge. It launched the beloved Putt-Putt series and helped establish the "junior adventure" genre for children.
