The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a 1998 action-adventure developed by Nintendo EAD, the series' first fully 3D entry and one of the most acclaimed games ever made. It follows the hero Link across the land of Hyrule as he grows from child to adult and travels through time to stop the villain Ganondorf from seizing the sacred Triforce.
The game introduced innovations that shaped the genre for years, most notably the Z-targeting lock-on system that made 3D combat and camera control intuitive, along with context-sensitive action buttons, a day-night cycle, and the ability to play melodies on an ocarina to solve puzzles and warp across the map. Its inventive dungeons, memorable music and boss fights, and sense of open adventure set a new standard for immersive 3D worlds.
