Baba Is You is a 2019 logic puzzle developed by Hempuli, the studio of Finnish designer Arvi Teikari, growing out of a prize-winning game jam prototype. Its central twist is that the rules themselves are objects on the board, written as blocks of words like "Baba Is You" or "Wall Is Stop."

By pushing these word blocks around, you rewrite the laws of each level on the fly, deciding what is solid, what can win, what pushes, or even what counts as "you." Breaking a rule apart can make walls walkable, turn enemies into keys, or let you become the flag you were trying to reach. This turns every puzzle into an act of lateral thinking, where the solution often means dismantling the game's own logic. It became a critical darling, won major independent game awards, and was praised as one of the most inventive puzzle designs in years.

It is widely available on PC and popular handheld and console platforms today, and its rule-bending concept has inspired many other logic games.
