Zuma
Zuma is a 2003 action puzzle game developed by PopCap Games, in which players control a stone frog idol positioned at the center of the screen that spits colored balls at a winding chain of spheres steadily advancing along a track. The goal is to clear the entire chain before it reaches the skull-marked hole at the end.
Firing balls to match three or more of the same color makes them vanish, and precise aiming can slot balls into gaps to trigger gap shots, chain reactions and combos that rapidly clear long stretches of the track. Special power-up balls, the ability to swap the frog's loaded colors, and the mounting tension as the chain crept ever closer to the pit gave it a compulsive, nerve-racking, arcade-like intensity across its many themed levels.
Zuma became a defining casual hit and a hallmark of the marble-shooter subgenre, spawning sequels and many imitators. The original remains a widely recognized casual classic, remembered for its simple concept and addictive, high-pressure pace.
