Little Big Adventure
Little Big Adventure is a 1994 adventure game developed by Adeline Software International. Also known as Relentless in North America, it follows Twinsen, a young man on the planet Twinsun who escapes an asylum after prophetic dreams and sets out to fight the tyrannical Dr. FunFrock, who has been cloning citizens and suppressing an ancient prophecy.
The game combined action, exploration, and puzzle-solving in a colorful isometric world rendered with early polygonal 3D characters over detailed backdrops. Its signature feature was a behavior system that let players switch Twinsen among discreet, aggressive, athletic, and normal modes, each changing how he moved and interacted, so puzzles and encounters often hinged on choosing the right stance. This inventive design, along with its imaginative world and emotional story, earned it a devoted following.
A sequel expanded the adventure into fuller 3D, and both games have been reissued on digital storefronts, with a remake later revisiting Twinsen's world for modern players.
