World of Goo
World of Goo is a 2008 physics puzzle developed by 2D Boy, an independent studio founded by two former Electronic Arts developers, Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel. Players build structures out of living, sticky goo balls to reach a pipe at each level's exit.
By connecting goo balls into bridges, towers, and precarious wobbling shapes, you exploit gravity, tension, and momentum to guide the little creatures onward, with different goo types offering unique properties like balloons that float or gel that stays put. Its expressive physics, memorable soundtrack, and gently satirical story about consumerism made it a landmark of the early indie movement and a showcase for the WiiWare and PC download eras. A separate open-ended tower mode let players compete with saved-up spare goo.
A later remastered version and a full sequel followed, and the original remains easy to find on PC, mobile, and console storefronts.
