Final Fight
Final Fight is a 1989 beat 'em up developed by Capcom, and it became one of the arcade genre's most influential and imitated titles. Former wrestler and mayor Mike Haggar, along with Cody and Guy, sets out to rescue Haggar's kidnapped daughter from the Mad Gear gang.
You walk through the seedy streets of Metro City, pummeling gangs of thugs with punches, throws, jumping attacks, and screen-clearing special moves, alone or in two-player cooperative play, smashing objects for bonus items along the way. Its large, detailed character sprites, wide variety of enemies, distinct playable heroes, and satisfying, weighty combat set a template that countless later brawlers followed, helping to define the side-scrolling beat 'em up.
Its characters later appeared throughout other Capcom games, most notably the Street Fighter series, and the original has been re-released many times through arcade compilations and classic collections on modern platforms.
