Hitman: Blood Money
Hitman: Blood Money is a 2006 stealth game developed by IO Interactive, following Agent 47 through a series of contracts across America and beyond, framed by a journalist recounting his career to a mysterious interviewer. It is widely considered a high point of the classic Hitman formula.
Its open, systemic levels invited creative assassinations, rewarding players who disguised themselves, manipulated the environment and staged victims' deaths as accidents, such as rigging chandeliers or tampering with props, to avoid suspicion. A notoriety system tracked how much attention 47 drew through witnesses and evidence, encouraging clean, discreet kills over chaos, and players could spend earnings upgrading weapons between jobs.
Blood Money's elegant sandbox design, replayability and dark humor influenced the series' celebrated later revival. It has been remastered and re-released over the years across modern platforms, letting new players experience one of stealth gaming's most beloved and inventive entries.
